Here’s how to get started:
Use the Request a Consultation form to request a consultation.
We’ll meet to talk through your goals and make a plan.
From there, I’ll take the lead—guiding you through every phase with strength, empathy, and the legal experience you need.
Family, Divorce, Custody, & Domestic Relations
Maybe everything feels like it’s coming apart. Perhaps you’re trying to protect your kids, separate from a toxic relationship, or find a way to make things work when nothing feels certain. Family law isn’t just about legal rights—it’s about your home, safety, identity, children, and future. That’s a lot to carry on your own. You don’t have to.
Whether you’re navigating divorce, figuring out child custody or support, handling adoption, or managing a guardianship, I know how overwhelming this can feel. There’s grief. There’s fear. Sometimes there’s deep conflict; sometimes, there’s just the quiet ache of change. I see it. I get it. And I’ll help you move through it with strength and clarity.
I handle various family law matters, including divorce, child custody and support, prenuptial agreements, adoption, and guardianship. No two families are the same, so I take the time to understand your specific needs and goals. Together, we’ll find a path that centers your well-being and honors what matters most to you.
Whether you need someone to advocate fiercely in court or help guide you through complex legal decisions, I’ll be there—with the experience to protect your rights and the empathy to support you.
Guardianships & Conservatorships
This isn’t where you thought you’d be. Whether you’re trying to protect a parent whose memory is slipping, a loved one recovering from serious illness, or a child who’s suddenly without safe care—you’re now facing a legal process you didn’t ask for but feel responsible for getting right.
It’s overwhelming. The paperwork, the court hearings, the pressure to make the “right” decision—it all lands on your shoulders while you’re already carrying the emotional weight of grief, fear, or family tension. You might be exhausted. Second-guessing yourself. Unsure who to trust.
You shouldn’t have to figure this out alone. I help clients navigate guardianships and conservatorships with clarity, strategy, and compassion—ensuring every step is explained, every option is clear, and your loved one’s best interests stay front and center. You’ll have the legal tools to move forward and the support to breathe through it.
This isn’t just about getting legal authority. It’s about doing right by someone you care about and making decisions rooted in care, protection, and dignity.
Mediation
Mediation is for people who are tired of the fight, but still need real solutions.
Maybe you and the other person are stuck in the same argument on repeat. Maybe everything turns into a text thread that spirals. Or maybe you can feel a court case brewing and you want to handle this like adults, with structure and guardrails, before it becomes more expensive and more damaging than it needs to be.
Mediation gives you a way to work through conflict without handing your life over to a judge. It is a confidential, guided process where a neutral third party helps you identify the real issues, communicate more effectively, and reach agreements you can both live with. You stay in control of the outcome. You can move at a pace that’s workable. And you can often resolve the hard parts without turning the entire situation into a public, adversarial court battle.
I bring a human-centered approach to mediation, with a focus on creating a safe, respectful space where people can be heard, understand their options, and make progress. I’m direct when things get muddy, steady when emotions run high, and practical about what agreements actually hold up in real life.
I’m also an approved Parenting Act Mediator. That matters because, in many Nebraska cases involving children, mediation is not optional. Under Nebraska’s Parenting Act, if parents do not file an agreed parenting plan by the deadline set by the court, the court will typically order the parties into mediation or another approved dispute-resolution process unless an exception applies. In other words, for many custody and parenting-time disputes, mediation is a required step before the court steps in and decides for you.
This is not about forcing you to “get along.” It’s about helping you make decisions with more clarity, less chaos, and fewer scars. When mediation works, you leave with a plan instead of a pile of uncertainty, and you can move forward knowing you handled a hard situation with dignity and intention.
Advanced Directives, Estate Planning, & Estate Administration
Thinking about your own or someone else’s future can bring up a lot. Maybe you’re trying to make sure your loved ones aren’t left with uncertainty. Perhaps you’re stepping into the responsibility of managing someone else’s affairs and feeling overwhelmed by everything that’s suddenly on your plate. Either way, this isn’t just about forms and signatures—it’s about love, protection, and peace of mind.
You might wonder: Where do I even begin? How do I ensure that this is done correctly? What if I miss something that matters?
That’s where I come in. I work closely with clients to create clear, thoughtful estate plans that reflect their values and protect the people they care about. That includes wills, trusts, and powers of attorney for healthcare and finances—so if something unexpected happens, the right person is legally empowered to step in. I also draft advanced directives, like living wills, to ensure your care choices are honored.
If you’re managing the estate of a loved one, I’ll guide you through probate and estate administration with clarity and compassion—helping you handle the legal side while you deal with everything else life asks of you.
This is about ensuring that no one is left guessing, removing confusion and stress before they can settle in, and ensuring that your wishes—or those of your loved ones—are carried out with respect, intention, and care.
LGBTQIA+ Issues
If you’re here, you might already know what it feels like to move through a legal system that wasn’t built with you in mind. Maybe you’re trying to update your name or gender marker and running into red tape. Perhaps you’re planning your family or future and wondering how to protect the people you love—especially your chosen family. Maybe you’re facing discrimination at work, in housing, or somewhere else you should feel safe.
You shouldn’t have to navigate any of this alone—or feel like you have to educate your attorney just to be understood. You deserve legal representation that knows the law, sees you, respects your identity, and fights for what matters to you.
As a queer attorney, I don’t just work with LGBTQIA+ clients—I am one. I understand the weight of feeling like the system isn’t built for you, and I’m here to help change that—one case, one client, one step at a time.
I provide comprehensive legal support tailored to LGBTQIA+ individuals and families, including:
Name and gender marker changes
Adoption and parental rights
Estate planning that honors chosen family
Employment and housing discrimination
And other legal matters impacting LGBTQIA+ clients
This is about securing your rights, protecting your relationships, and ensuring you are treated with dignity and care in every legal space.
Resignation from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
You’ve already made the decision. You’ve done the emotional work. You know it’s time to walk away from the Church—but now you’re facing the actual process of resigning, and it’s more complicated than it should be.
You shouldn’t have to jump through hoops to leave a religious institution. You shouldn’t have to deal with delays, unwanted contact, or leadership trying to talk you out of your own decision. If you’re here, you’re likely already carrying enough—grief, fear, frustration, and maybe even pressure from people who don’t understand why you’re leaving. I see you. And I want you to know: you’re allowed to leave, and you’re allowed to make it final.
I handle the legal aspects of LDS Church resignation with clarity and care. That includes drafting and submitting your resignation letter, ensuring it’s processed correctly, stopping unwanted contact, and addressing any delays or pushback from Church leadership. You won’t have to chase responses or defend your choice. I’ll take care of the process so you can focus on what’s next.
Whether you’re leaving quietly or want your resignation to be crystal clear, I’ll ensure it’s official, respected, and entirely yours.
Business & Corporate
Owning or managing a business can bring up a lot. Maybe you’re launching something new and want to make sure it’s built on solid ground. Maybe you’re bringing on a partner, buying out someone else, or preparing to sell. Or maybe you’re winding things down after years of hard work—and want to do it with clarity and care.
Wherever you are in that process, this isn’t just about filings, agreements, or corporate structure. It’s about protecting what you’ve built, planning for what’s next, and making sure no one’s left cleaning up a legal mess you didn’t mean to leave behind.
You might be wondering: What kind of entity makes the most sense? How do I transfer ownership without creating more risk? What happens if I don’t get this in writing?
That’s where I come in. I help business owners and professionals create the legal structure and documents they need to form, manage, transition, or close their businesses—clearly and thoughtfully. That includes LLC formations, corporate filings, S-corp elections, purchase agreements, buy-sell clauses, and wind-ups.
Whether you’re just starting out or wrapping things up, I’ll guide you through the legal side with practicality and intention—so you can focus on your business, your team, or your next move.
This is about building with purpose, protecting what matters, and making decisions that hold up—on paper and in practice.
